Amanda Egbe
Amanda Egbe is an artist, researcher, and Senior Lecturer in Media Production.
Her work explores the intersections of race, technology, and archives through moving image practice, prototyping, and critical historiography.
She is the Chair of the Regional Working Group for the UnMuseum Project, a three-year initiative led by Black South West Network (BSWN) focused on decolonial cultural heritage.
Amanda’s research framework, fugitive historiography, draws on autoethnography and artistic experimentation to challenge dominant modes of knowledge production and archival visibility. Her recent projects include Where Were You in 1992?, Mnemosyne Moving Image Archive, and a series of films exploring racialised vision and film archives.
Amanda is an advisory board member for the AHRC project Colonial Reels, a member of the editorial board for Screenworks.
