Japheth 'Jeff' Monzon
Japheth ‘Jeff’ Monzon is a Project Officer at Black South West Network focused on Policy, particularly Access to Justice in Education and Housing for Black and Racially Minoritised communities in the South West of England.
Black South West Network (BSWN) is a research-led racial justice organisation based in Bristol, United Kingdom, that supports the development of dynamic, independent and strong Black and Racially Minoritised communities, businesses, and organisations. BSWN’s goal is to drive racial equity through intentional, strategic, and systemic ways. The organisation achieves this through the dimensions of research & policy, enterprise & innovation, community & sector development, and cultural heritage.
The UnMuseum, BSWN’s flagship cultural heritage initiative funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, intends to break through barriers on community-led and community-centred cultural heritage initiatives experienced by Black and Racially Minoritised communities in the region. In the next three years, the UnMuseum will develop a physical and digital exhibition space –– housed in the Coach House –– and a travelling Festival of Black Belonging celebrating the diverse histories of communities in the southwest of England.
